How do you feel as an
ex-Trashcan?
I really haven't had much time to think bout it. It's only been a couple
of months since the last gig and my days are fully occupied. Still, I'm
proud of everything the band achieved and got lots of good memories with
me into the future.
How was the last gig in Oslo for you?
I think it was good.
Have you realized that there will be no more
Trashcan Darlings?
Yeah, I guess. In a way it's sad I suppose because we were indeed a very
good band, but from a different point of view it feels allright. The Darlings
will go down in my book as a band that gave 100 % every time, and that
rather died than turning into something else.
A classic one: You were on tour in Germany a
couple of times. What is your best / worst tour memory?
It's hard to pick one particular moment and say that this is my best or
worst memory. I absolutely love to go on tour. The early tours were great
cause everything was new. I loved Switzerland and Leipzig. Eventually
it was fun to see people enjoying the songs. Most important was the pleasure
of meeting so many great people from all over. They are my best memory.
My worst memory has to be our first gig in Hamburg. It had nothing to
do with Hamburg or Trashcan Darlings. If you got no voice whatsoever
Do not go up on stage and sing.
What comes to your mind when you think of your
time as a Darling?
A hard working brilliant liveband.
During your last shows you played some new songs
which you have never played before and said you would put on the next
album. What happens with a song like "Sick Of War" now?
"Sick Of War" was put together in the rehearsing room from an
old song I wrote years ago. I don't know what will happen to it.
Are there any plans to release more Trashcan
Darlings stuff in the future? For example material from the 10-Year anniversary
gig, a live album or another DVD?
I don't know.
When you played in Oslo you often gave new bands
like "Hell Dörmer" and "Hollywood Vampires" a
chance to play in front of a bigger crowd. Did you select your own supportbands?
Do you support new bands with other things?
I think everyone that has ever been a member of Trashcan Darlings has
always been truly fond of music, so taking interest in the support acts
just comes natural. In Oslo I believe we always choose the opening acts
ourselves. I still like to check out new bands.
There's a lot of different bands and a many
sided music scene in Oslo / Norway, but I don't know any other band that
combines Punk with Glamrock like Trashcan Darlings does. When people start
to call for a reunion in a few years, is there a chance that you will
play together again?
Initially I have absolutely no problem with playing with Trashcan Darlings
again. We're all good guys and Trashcan Darlings is a band I'm a fan of
myself. But on the other hand, at the time I (and the other guys for that
matter) have other priorities and most important like I mentioned earlier
Trashcan Darlings was always a band that gave absolutely everything on
stage, and should be remembered like that. Without that energy and passion
you really got nothing. One day maybe everybody is gonna feel that we
want to do something but honestly, to tell you the truth I don't see a
reunion happening.
What will you do in the future? Will you continue
to make music and what kind of music?
Currently I'm in a band called "Hard Luck Street". Hopefully
we'll be ready to play live next spring. The music is in the punkrock
/ hardrock genre.
